The base is made by layering small pieces of glass on a larger glass sheet and then heating it in a kiln until the glass pieces fuse together into a single plate or tile. This gives a smooth, glossy finish
Some glass fusion mosaic plates may feature textured glass, with raised or uneven surfaces, adding tactile and visual interest to the piece.
This style results in a highly dynamic and colorful decorative piece, with a blend of smooth, flowing designs and the structural nature of mosaics.
The plate size is 17cm x 9.5 cm
The bowl size 9cm x 9cm
It is my mission to create useful and unique dishes and bowls. Working with art glass is very rewarding by picking out color combinations that compliment each other. Each piece is cut by hand and carefully placed in the kiln to get fused together. The second time in the kiln the piece of glass gets shaped over a mold.
I also like to recreate recycled bottled glass into functional art. There are plenty of empty bottles around. It is rewarding to give new life to the old bottles by making them into cutting boards, candle holder or even plates and bowels.

My greatest love is for the Sea. The ocean, the coral reefs, the sea creatures - these are my inspiration when I create with glass. I'm fascinated with the glass melting process.
I participated in a Glass Fusion seminar. A while after that, I became the proud owner of my very first kiln. To learn, experiment, and improve is my never-ending goal. For that reason, each piece is unique; a reflection of my experience and ability at the time of creation. I will always be a student. In drawing inspiration from the Sea, I hope my designs are simple, beautiful, and above all else - functional. I hope you enjoy using my glass creations as much as I enjoy making them!- Vera
